The 2009 Fall poetry Workshop just strted at Asbury this week; Dave Harrity is once again at the helm, and has a promising series of workshops ahead of us. The theme this semester is Poets, visionaries and Prophets. Last night we looked at Psalm 22, George Herbert's PRAYER(I), Blake's Tyger and Alan Ginsburg's Howl and America. What a line up.
Our challenge has been to write poetically for 20 min a day throughout the workshop. hopefully that process will bear some fruit and I'll have some things to share from it.
In the meanwhile, ATS' new president Tim Tennent had written a series of posts that are churning on me big time. Here's one called The Suffering and Advancing Church that is rocking my world. Enjoy!
